Paul Asks… I’m a veteran and want to buy a house ~ is it a good idea for me to use my VA eligibility?

Yes!  If you are a veteran and have VA eligibility then I would highly advise you to learn as much as you can about the VA home loan programs. ALMC Mortgage can help you determine if this is a good option for you. As you become more and more educated about these certain types of loans, it is likely that you will realize just how little ‘red tape’ is involved with getting approved for a VA home loan.

To receive a VA loan you only need two things; Your Certificate of Eligibility and a VA-assigned appraisal. Then, like any other mortgage loan you will follow the traditional application process. Once approved for a VA home loan, qualified buyers will have the opportunity to purchase a home with no down payment. And in addition to this Paul, you will not be required to pay monthly mortgage insurance premiums and the seller can pay your closing costs. So truly a no down payment loan and a benefit to all the servicemen and women.

So with all of that being said, if you are a veteran looking to purchase it would be in your best interest to investigate if you qualify for a VA loan.

Thank you for your service.
